The Creative Economy is Global.

My research examines how intellectual property, cultural assets, and storytelling contribute to economic development, innovation, and global influence. This section highlights research, publications, conference presentations, speaking engagements, and thought leadership exploring the future of creativity, intellectual property, and cultural innovation.

As part of my graduate studies at NYU Gallatin, I conducted grant-supported research exploring how countries leverage intellectual property ecosystems, creative industries, and cultural exports to generate economic value and strengthen national competitiveness.

My research papers included case studies from Global North and emerging creative markets such as Southern Mediterranean countries and West Africa.

Through research, writing, and public speaking, I explore topics including:

  • Intellectual property strategy

  • Creative economy development

  • Soft power and cultural diplomacy

  • Media and entertainment ecosystems

  • Innovation policy and foreign direct investment

  • Storytelling as economic infrastructure

  • Global creative industries

I received a grant to attend the Cannes Lion Festival of Creativity in 2025 to interview professionals and attend sessions related to the global creative economy.

CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS

CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS 〰️

This personal branding for creative professionals workshop had a waiting list that doubled the occupancy of the room!

At the World Science Fiction Convention in Glasgow, I was on a panel discussing how creatives can work toward franchising their intellectual property, expanding their stories across multiple mediums.

I love sharing knowledge and helping people feel confident in doing what they love. This means that occasionally, I’m asked to speak at conferences, networking events and the like. You can hear all about my trip to Glasgow where I spoke at the World Science Fiction Convention about multimedia franchising and led a personal branding workshop.

I have had the opportunity to engage with creative professionals all over the world in publishing, filmmaking, games and other crafts. The work I do is designed to empower creatives on all aspects of the industry: from honing the stories we tell to handling the minutiae of the business to navigating the digital landscape we may find ourselves in to knowing when we need to enlist the help of a legal professional.
